Data Collection: Scope and Purpose
MeyeVPN collects only the information needed to activate service, meter traffic, and keep routes running, and does not collect personal content unrelated to the service. The categories are as follows:
- Account information: the username and password used to register. Registration requires no email address — a username and password are all that is needed. Passwords are stored as irreversible hashes, and the service cannot read them in plain text.
- Order and billing information: the plan or data package purchased, order number, payment time, amount, and the transaction result returned by the payment provider, used to activate service, process renewals and refunds, and reconcile accounts.
- Usage information: total traffic and online session time within a plan period, used for traffic metering, plan expiry reminders, and capacity planning.
- Client and connection metadata: client version, operating system type, the route node connected to, and connection time, used for troubleshooting and route maintenance.
- Site traffic statistics: aggregated data such as page views and referral sources for the marketing pages and user dashboard, used to decide whether documentation and content need updating.
This information is used only to provide the service, maintain route quality, and meet legal obligations. It is not used for user profiling or advertising.
Logs and Connection Records
The service takes a no-logs stance: it does not record which websites users visit, does not store browsing history or DNS queries, and does not retain transmitted content at the content level.
Session metadata is stored on a rolling-overwrite basis and used only for billing verification and route troubleshooting. It is not used for user profiling or advertising and is not shared with third parties. Data between the client and the destination site is encrypted in transit.
Cookies and Local Storage
- The marketing pages use a small number of cookies and local storage to remember language preference, keep users signed in, and count page views.
- Sign-in credentials for the user dashboard are kept in the browser's local storage so users do not have to log in repeatedly; they expire when the user signs out or clears browser data.
- The site does not run third-party ads and does not use advertising tracking cookies.
- Cookies and local storage can be cleared in browser settings. Doing so resets language preference and sign-in state, but does not affect a purchased plan.
Payments and Third Parties
The service supports three payment methods — Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT — and payments are processed by third-party payment providers.
- Account credentials entered on the payment page are handled directly by the relevant provider and do not pass through the service's servers.
- The service receives only the transaction result returned by the provider (order number, amount, payment status), used to activate service and process refunds.
- Apart from completing payments, delivering subscriptions, and complying with regulatory requirements, the service does not sell, rent, or trade user data with third parties.
- Third-party providers handle data under their own privacy policies, which users are advised to read before paying.
Data Retention and Deletion
Data is retained for the shortest period needed to deliver the service and meet legal obligations:
- Account and order information is kept for as long as the account exists. After an account is closed, the portion needed to handle refunds, reconciliation, and legal obligations is kept until those matters are resolved; the rest is deleted or anonymized.
- Connection metadata used for billing and troubleshooting is overwritten on a rolling basis and is not archived long term.
- Requests to close an account and delete related data can be submitted through the ticket section of the user dashboard; the outcome is reported in the ticket reply.
- Account deletion cannot be undone, so please confirm there are no pending orders before submitting a request.
Policy Updates and Contact
If this policy changes, the update will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date at the top will be revised. Material changes affecting user rights will be highlighted prominently on the site.
Continuing to use the service after a policy update means accepting the revised version. Users who disagree may stop using the service and request account closure.
Questions about this policy, or requests to exercise the right to access, correct, or delete data, can be submitted through the ticket section of the user dashboard; tickets are handled and answered in the order received.
